The
Coach House is owned and run by Peter and Wendy Born
who have lived there since 1983...
As
it’s
name suggests, the Coach House was originally the coach
house and stabling for neighbouring Putley Court
- a stunning property built by Mr. Edmund Phillips in 1712.
It was formerly the home of Mr. John Riley, a country squire
and renowned hawking breeder and flier. Putley Court and
the Coach House were originally lit by acetylene gas generated
in an outhouse which was superseded by battery powered electricity
and finally by mains electricity in 1957.
The Coach House is now a unique residence, which has many
of its original features retained, and offers five bedroomed
en-suite accommodation arranged around a central courtyard
in a relaxing rural atmosphere.
Breakfast
is served in the spacious Stable dining room.
